Abstract：BeingthebirthplaceofmodernnationalindustryandthankstotheeffectiveadministrationandindustrialconstructionlaunchedbyaNumberOneScholarofthelateQingDynastynamedZhangJian,modernbuildingsbiningChineseandWesternelementswerebuiltinNantong.Thesebuildings,theproductsofthecollisionandbinationofChineseandWesterncultures,areofhighhistorical,culturalandaestheticvaluesfortheyembodyarchitecturalstylesofbothChineseandwesterncultures.Accordingtoinvestigationsofthe84existingbuildingsbinedwithChineseandwesternelementsandtheanalysisofhistoricaldocumentsaboutthem,thedevelopmentcourseandmotionsofthesebuildingsarediscussed,andfourbasicstylesarederivedfrommorphologicaltrendofthesebuildings.
