Abstract:Inthispaper,wereportachalcogenideAs2Se3glassphotoniccrystalfiber(PCF)fordispersionpensatingapplication.Wehaveusedtheimprovedfullyvectorialeffectiveindexmethod(IFVEIM)forparingthedispersionproperties(negativeandzerodispersion)andeffectiveareainhexagonalandsquarelatticeofAs2Se3glassPCFusingdifferentwavelengthwindows.Ithasbeendemonstratedthatduetotheirnegativedispersionparameterandnegativedispersionslopeinwavelengthrange1.2–2.5μm,bothlatticestructuresofAs2Se3glassPCFs,withpitch(Λ等于2μm),canbeusedasdispersionpensatingfibers.Further,designparametershavebeenobtainedtoachievezerodispersioninthesefibers.ItisalsoshownthatAs2Se3glassPCFprovidesmuchhighernegativedispersionparedtosilicaPCFofthesamestructure,inwavelengthrange1.25–1.6μmandhencesuchPCFhavehighpotentialtobeusedasadispersionpensatingfiberinopticalmunicationsystems.

Abstract:Square-latticemicrostructuregeometryofphotoniccrystalfibersmadewithhighnonlinearitynon-silicaglasspositionmaterialaswellasfusedsilicaglassarestudiedhereformodalpropagation,dispersionanalysisandsupercontinuumgeneration.Ourinvestigationofnonlinearpropagationoflowthresholdpowerfemtosecondpulseaimsatgeneratingsupercontinuuminthenearandmidinfraredregionusingthesehighlynonlinearfibers.Weperformedaseriesofanalysesthroughvaryingparametersofsquare-latticegeometrytomapadesiredbroadbandwindow.Wealsodemonstrateapacthighpowerbroadbandsourceinvisibleregiongeneratedwithinfewcentimeterlengthofthefusedsilicasquare-latticemicrostructure.

Abstract:Inthispaper,weproposeanovelphotoniccrystalfiberdesigntoachievehighbirefringence,highnonlinearitywithaflatteneddispersionprofile.Theairholeswhichareembeddedinsilicaarearrangedintriangularlatticeconfiguration.Inthecoreregion,anairholeisintroducedasthecentraldefecttoflattenthedispersioncurve.TheshapeofthedefectairholeisdeliberatelydesignedellipticalsothathighbirefringenceinthePCFisobtainedforpolarization-maintainingpurpose.Thestructuralparametersarecarefullyselectedtooptimizetheopticalproperties.
