摘 要:Duetoenvironmentandsustainabilityissues,thiscenturyhaswitnessedremarkableachievementsingreentechnologyinthefieldofmaterialssciencethroughthedevelopmentofbioposites.Thedevelopmentofhigh-performancematerialsmadefromnaturalresourcesisincreasingworldwide.Thegreatestchallengeinworkingwithnaturalfiberreinforcedplasticpositesistheirlargevariationinpropertiesandcharacteristics.Abioposite'spropertiesareinfluencedbyanumberofvariables,includingthefibertype,environmentalconditions(wheretheplantfibersaresourced),processingmethods,andanymodificationofthefiber.Itisalsoknownthatrecentlytherehasbeenasurgeofinterestintheindustrialapplicationsofpositescontainingbiofibersreinforcedwithbiopolymers.Biopolymershaveseenatremendousincreaseinuseasamatrixforbiofiberreinforcedposites.Aprehensivereviewofliterature(from2000to2016)onthemostlyreadilyutilizednaturalfibersandbiopolymersispresentedinthispaper.Theoverallcharacteristicsofreinforcingfibersusedinbioposites,includingsource,type,structure,position,aswellasmechanicalproperties,willbereviewed.Moreover,themodificationmethods,physical(coronaandplasmatreatment)andchemical(silane,alkaline,acetylation,maleatedcoupling,andenzymetreatment)willbediscussed.Themostpopularmatricesinbiofiberreinforcedpositesbasedonpetrochemicalandrenewableresourceswillalsobeaddressed.Thewidevarietyofbiopositeprocessingtechniquesaswellasthefactors(moisturecontent,fibertypeandcontent,couplingagentsandtheirinfluenceonpositesproperties)affectingtheseprocesseswillbediscussed.Priortotheprocessingofbioposites,semi-finishedproductmanufacturingisalsovital,whichwillbeillustrated.Processingtechnologiesforbiofiberreinforcedpositeswillbediscussedbasedonthermoplasticmatrices(pressionmolding,extrusion,injectionmolding,LFT-D-method,andthermoforming),andthermosets(resintransfermolding,sheetmoldingpound).Otherimplementedprocesses,i.e.,thermosetpressionmoldingandpultrusionandtheirinfluenceonmechanicalperformance(tensile,flexuralandimpactproperties)willalsobeevaluated.Finally,thereviewwillconcludewithrecentdevelopmentsandfuturetrendsofbiopositesaswellaskeyissuesthatneedtobeaddressedandresolved.
