ABSTRACT

Near-faultstronggroundmotionshavebeeaveryattractivesubjectofresearchinseismologyandearthquakeengineeringinthelastdecade.Intheendofthelastcentury,manydestructiveearthquakeshavecausedgreatdamagesandshownsomemoncharacteristicsinnear-faultzones,whichimpelresearcherstostudythebasiccharacteristicsandthepredictionmethodofnear-faultstronggroundmotions.Basedonthesestudies,peoplecanpredictthespatialdistributionandthetimehistoryofnearfaultstronggroundmotionsforcityplanning,seismicstructuraldesignandearthquakedamageprediction.Thisthesisisthesub-topicoftheseismichazardevaluationwhichbelongstotheprojectoftheactivefaultdetectionincities.ThisstudywillbehelpfulfortheseismicstructuraldesignandcityplanningintheBeijingarea,andtoprovidethetechnologicalstorageforseismichazardevaluationinotherbigcitiesofChina.

Theresearchareaofthisworkisabout7800squarekilometers,whichincludesthemid-easternBeijingandsmallpartofHebeiProvince.Mountainsaredominantinthenorthandnortheastpartofthestudyarea,andplainswhicharecoveredwithunconsolidatedHolocenesedimentsarelocatedinotherpartofthestudyarea.Intheresearcharea,therearealotofearthquakesandactivefaultswhichseriouslyaffectpeople'slifesafetyandeconomicalconstruction.ThemajorregionalfaultsaredividedintotwogroupsofNEandNWdirectioninthestudyarea,andtheNEXiadianfaultthatistheseismogenicfaultofthe1679Sanhe-pingguM等于8earthquakeistheobjectiveofthisresearch.

Thestudyprocessofnear-faultstronggroundmotionsisposedofestablishmentoftheearthquakesourcemodelsandtransmittingmediummodels,calculationofmodelsandanalysisofthecalculatedresult.
